YOUR POWER-PACKED AGENDA

Forecasting
You have business data, but need to determine the trend so that you can
forecast. What type of trend do you expect? How do you decide whether
to fit a linear or a more complex trendline? Once you have fitted a
trendline, how can you assess its performance? Is it even a good fit?
Discover the answers and how easy forecasting is in Excel.
- Chart trends.
- Forecast with regression analysis.
- Determine goodness of trendline fit.
Quiz
- Forecast with multiple variables.
- Generate a formula that calculates forecast values.
Quiz
- Account for seasonality.
- Discover LINEST, exponential smoothing and moving averages.

Solver, Goal Seek, Scenarios
Many business problems have more than one potential solution; of course,
you only want the very best solution. What staff schedule minimizes wage
costs? What is the most profitable product mix? How can you compare
multiple solutions to determine the optimal course of action? Learn to use
different Excel tools – Solver, Goal Seek, Scenarios and DataTables – in
order to make the best decision, every time.
- Use Solver to calculate optimal solutions to problems that have constraints.
- Solve the classic problem of what to ship from which plants to which warehouses.
- Find the selection of deposits that maximises total interest.
Quiz
- Apply Goal Seek to determine what the input needs to be to achieve the desired result.
- Set up a model with multiple scenarios and compare one scenario against another.
- Employ Data Tables to run a model with differing assumptions and compile a comparison table.
